Overview of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
permanent residency
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the points system that the federal government of Canada and Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada use in assessing and scoring immigrants’ Express Entry profiles. Through this point system, they would be able to rank the immigrants in the Express Entry pool based on their CRS score, which decides whether they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Moreover, CRS plays a vital role in your immigration journey to Canada as it will determine whether you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Thus, receiving an ITA holds the golden key for you to be able to enter Canada.
Allocation of Points for Comprehensive Ranking System
The highest CRS score that an Express Entry candidate can get is 1,200. Here is the allocation of the points for CRS:
- Human Capital Factors: 460-500 CRS points
- Spousal Factors: 40 CRS points
- Skills Transferability or Interaction Factors: 100 CRS points
- Additional Factors: 600 CRS points
