Canada has a new Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister
This Tuesday, October 26th, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has revealed his new cabinet, which includes Sean Fraser as Canada’s new Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. This announcement puts the replacement of former Minister Marco Mendicino in full-effect.
Brief About Our New Immigration Minister
Sean Fraser is originally from the province of Nova Scotia. He is 37 years old. A trained lawyer, he practiced commercial litigation before becoming a politician. In 2015, he was elected as a Member of Parliament.
Next Steps for Canadian Immigration
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will continue to follow its initial priorities. In a recent meeting, representatives said that they are focused on achieving the following three objectives: reaching their 2021 401,000 new permanent residents target, family reunification, and resettling Afghan refugees.
We’d like to extend our warm welcome to our new minister Sean Fraser.
