On August 6th 2020, the BC PNP Program announced a change in their fees for Skills Immigration (SI) applications and requests for review submissions.
Skills Immigration Applications – the fees to apply to BC PNP with a Skills Immigration application has been increased from $700 to $1,150.
Request for Review – the cost of submitting a request for review for a BC PNP application has been increased from $200 to $500.
This increase can be attributed to BC PNP’s cost-recovery model. Instead of putting the cost burden of the program’s operations on taxpayers, BC PNP recovers this cost from users of the program.
This increase in fees brings the BC PNP program fees at par with those in the Ontario immigration programs. ($2000 for Toronto and $1500 for the rest of the province)
The BC PNP program is British Columbia’s tool for economic immigration. It provides a pathway to permanent residence for workers with in-demand skills and experienced entrepreneurs. This program allows such individuals to immigrate to BC and settle here with their families. This program has seen significant growth in the last few years as people immigrate to British Columbia from all over the world. BC PNP’s annual PNP allocation from IRCC has increased from 3000 nominations in 2009 to 6750 nominations in 2019. BC PNP uses its full nomination allocation every year. BC PNP is popular for individuals immigrating from India, China, South Korea, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
