New Brunswick Immigration Pathway Announced For International Graduates

New Brunswick announced the launch of a
New Brunswick Immigration Pathway

Private career colleges have been preparing domestic students with the skills they need to succeed for generations, and we are ready to do our part to bring international students to our province to engage in this exciting new program”

About the Pathway

The incoming New Brunswick immigration pathway is a product of collaboration between Opportunities New Brunswick (ONB) and Immigration, Citizenship, and Refugees Canada (IRCC). This pathway was created in the efforts of addressing New Brunswick’s labour needs. Although the news were announced in August, the program’s official launch won’t take place until next year. Starting the first of April 2022, qualifying international students will be able to apply to the Provincial Nominee program (PNP), which will allow them to work and live in New Brunswick while they wait to become permanent residents of Canada.

Immigration Pathway Eligibility

This immigration pathway is intended to benefit graduates from designated learning institutions (DLI) who are not currently eligible for Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program. Therefore, conditions of the immigration program will limit participation to DLIs in New Brunswick that offer study programs directly related or applicable to the 19 identified occupations of interest to the province’s economy. Additionally, said DLIs must have maintained the designation status for a minimum of five years.

Students’ eligibility to the pathway, hence, depends largely on their academic enrolment. International students who graduate from the following academic institutions and whose study programs target the following occupations will be able to apply to the incoming immigration stream:

About New Brunswick

The province of New Brunswick has become a popular destination for many in the past couple of years. The multiple employment opportunities and booming entrepreneurial landscape are just two of many reasons why both Canadians and international temporary residents are choosing to live in New Brunswick over other provinces in the country. New Brunswick is opening their doors to people who want to enjoy relaxed, healthy, and more affordable lifestyles, on top of proximity to beautiful natural landscapes.
