Could You Tell Us One Fun Fact About Yourself?
This seems to surprise a lot of people when I tell them so I’d say it could be a fun fact: I’ve changed career paths a lot! I initially studied pharmacy, then IT and business, then went on to earn a Master of Science in Consultancy Management, and then landed in immigration consultancy. I’ve worked in education, business, marketing, IT, management consulting among others but my experiences in these different industries led me to my current career, which I love.
What Was Your Motivation for Entering the Immigration Consulting Profession?
After working in the education industry for so long, I realized I wanted to continue helping students. It’s a career that allows me to connect more meaningfully with each of my clients and support them in achieving their goals.
What Advice Would You Give to Someone Who May Wish to Have Students as Their Primary Client Base?
Having students as your primary client base is a big responsibility, but it is also very rewarding when they can benefit from your experience and knowledge. My advice would be to make sure students are informed. Be sure to explain to students the different alternatives they can choose when it comes to their studies or careers and then help them identify the one that best meets their needs and goals.

It is Chitra’s determination and drive to succeed that pushed her to apply for Canadian Immigration and she worked hard to find a job before she moved to Canada and ended up working with a Canadian College as a Regional Director of Marketing and Admissions. She strongly believes that success in life comes when you simply refuse to give up, with the goals so strong that obstacles, failure, and loss only act as motivation.
